Under the chairmanship of the Speaker Mr. Iyad Samarrai, the COR held its 28th regular session on Tuesday, July 21, 2009. The session was to approve the first batch of candidates for the posts of ambassadors. The session commenced with recital of verses from the Holy Quran.
The council heard to a report of the Foreign Relations Committee on the evaluation forms in the light of the criteria and guidelines established by the Committee at an interview the candidates for the posts of ambassadors, as the candidates submitted their resumes and answered questions from the MPs, after which the Council endorsed the thirty-two candidates separately as a first group
